SOLITUDE FARM PERMACULTURE INTERNSHIP
Solitude Farm, Auroville, is offering a 3 month long immersive internship starting from
1st week of January 2024 till end of 30th March 2024
1st July to 28th September 2024
1st Oct to 30th December 2024.

A reclamation of a cultural identity through understanding where our food comes from. Participants will explore a road back to nature through valuing local foods. We will learn about the principles of permaculture and natural farming and how to grow, harvest, and cook our own food. The field modules will also explore soil, nursery, seeds, edible weeds, etc., and there will be weekly field trips to other inspiring projects. Integral to this internship is the Solitude – farm-to-plate cafe, cooking, food processing, preserving, making ayurvedic powders, and even learning how to make vegan ice cream!

As well as recurring modules in the fields, cafe, nursery and seed bank participants will be encouraged to document their journey, and in the second month to take up an individual project such as traditional millet recipes, nutrition in schools or art and farming. Participants will also be engaged in our educational programs: learning and teaching how to make soap, bio-enzymes and recycling water or identifying and harvesting edible weed and teaching how to make delicious salads.
