For many years we have recognised that music is an adhesive that brings people together.
Like food, it is an essential aspect of our lives. After the lockdown, we had our first concerts, and the relief for people to meet friends and celebrate was quite touching. Community is integral to valuing local food, local produce that needs cooperation in harvesting, processing and especially in eating.
People coming together creates an economy, not only based on money but also on skills, knowledge and sharing. This is surely the basis of cultural identity.
