Education

A society that doesn't know where its food comes from is a society without culture, and humanity without culture will perish." - Masanobu Fukuoka

EDUCATION AT SOLITUDE

Where does our food come from? Who grows it? How is it grown, processed, packed, stored or transported? For the most part we don’t know. We have lost this relationship with where our food comes from, which is the foundation of our existence. Due to Industrialisation and our relentless pursuit of economic gain we do not recognise that the well-being of the earth IS our own well-being. At Solitude we invite you to walk with us on a road back to nature and reclaim your birthright to eat well, to be healthy and discover a deeper meaning to life.

Simply by eating local food, we’re able to undermine the vast industrialisation that is eroding the well-being of our planet. Through our permaculture workshops, farm tours, weekly mini-workshops and our farm-to-plate cafe we help people form a relationship with food that grows around us. This relationship is our nutritional cultural identity. Eating local food is an act of love to our planet and possibly the most profound action we can take towards changing our present crisis.
