The remedies for the overwhelming diseases that we face in this modern age, like cancer, can be found in nature. Take the juice or tisane of the Soursop leaf, for example – it is commonly acknowledged to be 10,000 times more effective than chemotherapy in the treatment of cancer (though precise research is ongoing). And the great thing is that it tastes good too!
To make the Soursop leaf tisane:
Take a handful of leaves (pluck the younger, light green leaves from low-lying branches) and boil them in a liter of water. Allow the infusion to steep for a few minutes. Add a little lemon if you like, and sweeten if desired. This tisane can be drunk hot or chilled, making for a delicious and refreshing juice on warm summer days, or a soothing, warm drink in colder weather. Maybe add some butterfly pea ice cubes on there!
Like the Soursop fruit, the leaves of the Soursop tree also have similar analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties alongside being rich in antioxidants, which makes them beneficial in treating inflammation, rheumatism, hypertension, diabetes, and parasitic infections.
Soursop tisane is also good for soothing back pain, relieving stress, insomnia and depression. So why not have a glass of refreshing Soursop leaf juice every once in a while as a health tonic and an immunity booster?!
