Idiyappam, or string hopper, originated from Srilanka and has achieved a prominent status as one of the most beloved dishes in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
This healthy rendition of noodles captivates taste buds with its unbelievably soft, delicate rice flour strands that harmonize flawlessly with savory curries. For a touch of sweetness, it can be paired with coconut milk.
Idiyappam stands out as a simple, light, and gluten-free delight that is both gut-friendly and delicious.
This simple dish is made by boiling water, combining rice flour and salt, and mixing in a soft roti batter.
Then the mixture is squeezed using an idiyappam maker, yielding slender strands. Cook these strands for five minutes in an idly cooker or steamer to achieve texture.
In the meanwhile, we can prepare the coconut milk. For this, add grated coconut and add it in a mixer and extract the juice(milk). A sprinkle of cardamom can be added for an additional burst of flavor.
Add some sweetening agents like, sugar, date syrup, etc., to add a touch of sweetness.
Enjoy this gutt-friendly delicious recipe for breakfast, as it is not only tasty but also healthy and gluten-free, and easy to make.
