Sweet kozhukattai is a delectable gluten-free dish that’s a beloved treat during festive occasions in Tamil culture and it is very easy to prepare.
Begin by soaking rice for two hours, and then let it dry in the shade(indoor) for 10 minutes.
Once dried, grind the rice into a fine powder. Next, boil water and add it to the rice flour to make a dough in a roti batter consistency. This is the outer layer of the kozhukattai.
For the filling, dry roast some moong dal and peanuts, and then grind them into a coarse mixture. Add grated jaggery, coconut and cardamom to the mixture.
To assemble the kozhukattai, flatten the dough into a round shape using your hands.
Add the sweet filling into the center, and then close the flattened dough to create a sealed ball or create your favourite shape. Steam the kozhukattai for 10 minutes.
The result is a mouth-watering treat that’s sure to delight your taste buds. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just want a tasty snack, sweet kozhukattai is a fantastic choice.
