Amla Ice Cream

Despite the fact that amla has the highest vitamin C content of all the fruits, unlike the local Tamilians, who love to eat it raw, my kids included!

Amla Ice Cream

Myself as a British-born, grown up with apples and pears find it too tart. There are many ways other ways to enjoy this fruit, one of them being amla ice cream.

Amla Ice Cream

In amla season, we have up to thirty kilos of amla, and we found the easiest thing to do is to wash them, boil them, remove the seed and freeze it.

Amla Ice Cream

To make amla ice cream, take some frozen amla, add sugar and coconut milk, add a bit of lemon or tangerine juice, and blend it into a consistency of ice cream. Freeze the mix and serve when ready.
