Plantain flour

Plantain is an amazing food source. At Solitude, especially in the summer when it is really hot, and we have a glut of plantain, we make flour.

Plantain is a great wheat substitute if you want to go gluten-free. This is truly something that anyone can do!

First, peel the plantains. Slice them into thin slices and dry them in the sun on a clean surface.Plantain flour

If it is very hot, like here in Tamil Nadu, the plantain slices will be dry within two days. Put them in a mixer, and the flour is ready!

The great thing about the flour, apart from the exceptional taste, is the fact that it can be stored.
