As well as using it in rasam and in our salad, a nice way to value thippili is to dry it and powder it.Dry powders are easy to store and easy to administer as a medication. A nice way to use the powder is to mix a spoonful of the powder with some honey. This is good for respiratory diseases. Mixing Thippili powder with turmeric, helps the patient to absorb the turmeric because the Thippili increases the digestive fire or Agni as it is called in Sanskrit.

The Thippili powder can also be mixed with dry ginger and black pepper for a powerful cough relief tea. To make into powder simply dry the Thippili spikes and grind them in a mixy and store in an air tied bottle.
